We offer both temporary/emergency housing and permanent supportive housing, along with essential resources such as job training, mental health and medical services, and access to transportation. Our mission is to empower individuals to regain stability and self-sufficiency through compassionate care and community-based solutions.Job Overview:We are seeking a diligent and experienced Food Service Cook to join our team with a focus on creating a positive dining experience for the residents and guests of My Place Home. This role involves preparing, cooking, and serving food, maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, and ensuring a high level of customer service.Key Responsibilities:Develop effective menus to meet operational needs and service levelsPrepare menu items in advance according to the intake and eventsPossess the ability to create food items of various dietary preferencesRestock kitchen for future useMaintain stock levels and organization in placing food ordersOrder food, supplies, and equipment to meet operational goalsAssist in budget development and monitor costsManage food deliveries and stock food items*Duties of the role are subject to change.Skills & Qualifications:Must be ServSafe Certified, either with a Food Handlers Certificate or more advancedAt least 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchenMust be able to read, use basic math skills to understand, and follow recipe measurements and proportionsConstant standing, walking, bending, stretching, and repetitive motionsStrong customer service skills with professionalismProactive and solution-orientedAble to work independentlyThis position requires working 3 days a week for 6 hours a day.My Place Home for the Homeless, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
