Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:The Food Service Staff member is responsible for all meals served and the equipment and facilities used in the food service process. The position will have a direct impact on the quality stay for all guests of camp. YMCA Camp Copneconic will have a satisfied and growing participant base, quality programs and services, sound financial position and a positive community image.Executes cooking of food, food preparations, stockroom management, cleaning of kitchen facility, equipment and general cleaning of dining facilities.Implementation of all food service functions at camp, which may include food cooking, food prep and cleaning of kitchen facilities, equipment and utensils.Monitor all necessary food and cooking supplies.May set up dining hall for special events.Manage camp resources (as related to food services), proactively working toward a consistent focus, enhancement and quality food and meals to support the mission of the YMCA.Cleaning of kitchen, serving, and dining areas.Adhere to all safety standards dictated by the American Camping Association and the licensing standards of the State of Michigan.Requirements:Work effectively under stressWork under specific instructionsMake decisions and judgmentsWork well with peopleMaintain pleasant attitude, inspire, unite, lead other staff membersSpeak clearlySpeak fluent EnglishRead & write EnglishBend/stoop/twistEffectively scan using peripheral visionPush/pullClimb/balance on laddersUse cleaning chemicalsLift over 50lbsSee clearlyWork in air-conditioned areaWork in non-air conditioned areaWork outdoors with pollensWork in sunlightWork in high humidityWork in areas with noise level over 50 decibelsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.
