202738 Job Description Description Summary: Performs a variety of patient support service tasks including clerical duties, routine housekeeping, patient transportation, and assisting in providing patient treatment. Works under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist or assistant. Responsibilities: 1. Transports patients to and from the department as necessary. 2. Maintains all therapy supplies on a daily basis. 3. Maintains patient and critical care equipment. 4. Assists the therapist and assistant in performing treatments as needed and in compliance with North Carolina Practice Act and regulatory agencies. Does not change any treatment from the established plan of care unless directed to do so by the licensed staff. 5. Performs simple housekeeping tasks within the rehab department to enhance operation efficiency, improve patient flow, improve patient satisfaction scores, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 6. Completes continuing education and in-service programs to meet regulatory and job requirements as applicable. 7. Actively participates in staff meetings and on committees as requested. 8. Participates in performance improvement activities. 9. Presents and promotes a professional demeanor at all times, establishes high standards of customer service and patient care, supports responsibility, pride, and teamwork, remains calm when under pressure, and offers reasonable solutions for problems. Relates to patients in a compassionate and sincere manner. 10. Demonstrates appropriate interaction with and provides recommended care and services to all patients. Exhibits knowledge and basic understanding regarding the needs of neonatal, adolescent, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients, and the cultural needs of all patients. 11. Applies knowledge of principles of standard precautions. Routinely and consistently uses PPE to avoid risk of exposure to self and others. WAYNE Other information:Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Licensure/ Certification BLS required. Experience Prior experience with patients preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Ability to understand how to operate simple patient care equipment. • Ability to accurately describe patient's condition and reaction to treatment to supervising assistant or therapist. • Good customer service and interpersonal skills. • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. • Proficient with MS Office and able to learn new software.
