JOB DESCRIPTION
Forklift Operator
The Lift Truck Operator 1 (LTO1) is a key member of the warehouse team responsible for supporting daily material handling and inventory operations. This role includes counting inventory, loading outbound shipments, unloading inbound transfers, staging and storing product pallets, and processing production receipts. The LTO1 assists team members as needed to meet organizational goals while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Compensation & Schedule
Rate of Pay: $18.85 per hour base; shift differential for based on shift.
Shift: A Shift 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM (40 hours per week) Shift: C Shift 4PM to 12:00 AM (40 hours per week)
Requirements
12 years of warehouse experience operating lift trucks (e.g., sit-down double fork, sit-down clamp).
Must satisfactorily complete a forklift training program or demonstrate safe forklift operation in an on-site test.
Prior forklift training or current certification preferred.
Skills & Abilities
Ability to obtain and maintain valid Pactiv Forklift and Safety Certifications.
Proficiency with warehouse equipment, scanners, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Self-directed with the ability to work independently.
Strong team orientation and relationship-building skills.
Ability to operate equipment and vehicles safely and responsibly.
Essential Job Duties
Operate warehouse equipmentincluding forklifts and clamp trucksto transfer finished goods and materials to designated areas.
Efficiently load and unload trucks in accordance with department standards.
Move and stage materials and finished goods in a high-volume production environment.
Use WMS tools for inventory and load management (e.g., pick lists, PGI).
Verify accuracy of product counts, IDs, order destinations, and carrier information before loading; complete all required documentation accurately.
Load inbound and outbound finished goods using PIC sheets or direct load functions on the forklift.
Perform all material transfers with high accuracy and adherence to established processes and procedures.
Follow all safety standards, Leader Standard Work (LSW), and company policies.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
Complete daily forklift inspection checklists.
Change forklift propane tanks as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Exposure to high temperatures in summer and low temperatures in winter.
Possible exposure to dust, machine noise, and typical warehouse environmental conditions.
Ability to maintain focus and situational awareness during tasks.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Frequent: Sitting; kneeling/crawling/bending; stair climbing; carrying 040 lbs for 510 ft; reaching; standing; walking.
Occasional: Stooping/squatting; ladder/step climbing; bending/twisting.
Repetitive Use: Wrists, hands, fingers, shoulders, elbows, hips, ankles, head, and neck.
