Forklift Technician at Luvata Appleton

OverviewSuccessful candidates will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the powered industrial vehicle equipment both electrical and propane within Luvata Appletons three manufacturing locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude be able to work in a productive and safe manner and be self-motivated. ResponsibilitiesPerforms preventive maintenance on all powered industrial vehicles including but not limited to oil changes greasing and inspection of hoses belts fluids and wiring.Perform regular vehicle inspections per manufacturers standards including testing and measurement verifying safe and proper operation.Diagnose and repair mechanical electrical and hydraulic issues to ensure optimal performance Identify the solution to issues and the cost to repair.Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts and equipment.Maintain parts inventory and identify critical sparesDocument all maintenance and repairs in the work order system while maintaining service logsServe as a back-up trainer that can certify new hires on equipment as well as recertifying current employeesPerform automobile and light truck repairs by disassembling and overhauling engines transmissions clutches rear ends and other assemblies.Replaces worn or broken parts aligns wheels adjusts brakes tightens bearings tunes engines etc.Performs minor body work.Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.May be required to assist millwrights as workload allowsMay perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsCandidate must be either a millwright or a mechanic that possesses previous applicable experienceCanddiate must have the ability to use hand and power tools read repair manuals have excellent mechanical and electrical repair skills and analytical and problem solving skillsHeavy lifting pushing pulling up to an estimated 75lbs requiredLift & carry materials weighing up to an estimated 50 lbs. Candidates are exposed to long term standingCandidates must have the ability to work independently and in a teamTravel is required between three facilities (all within 4 miles) as needed.Hours: This position will work Monday-Friday from 6A-2P. Overtime will be required when the business demands require it as outlined by Supervision.
