Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.A specialized opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher skilled in co-teaching at the high school level. This contract position focuses on collaboration within the English department, providing essential support to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The role is designed to work alongside general education educators to enhance instructional delivery and monitor student progress effectively.Key Responsibilities:Co-teach English courses in a high school setting, facilitating inclusive learning environments.Collaborate closely with general education teachers to implement lesson plans and modify instruction as needed.Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives regularly.Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families.Ensure compliance with district and state regulations related to special education.Qualifications and Experience:Valid Maryland Special Education License for grades 6 through Adult.Experience with co-teaching models in a secondary education setting.Strong understanding of special education laws, policies, and best practices.Ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Location: Thurmont, MDSchedule and Contract Details:Contract duration from January 19th to June 10th.School hours approximately 7:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.Position is under the Frederick County Public Schools district, serving high school students at Catoctin High School.This role offers a rewarding experience working with diverse learners in a collaborative environment.
