Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Front of House Restaurant Manager join our growing team.As a Restaurant Manager, your primary responsibility is to the customer, ensuring that every guest has a positive, memorable experience.To be successful as a restaurant manager, you should have effective communication skills and a passion for customer service. You should be someone who leads by example, both in how you interact with your team as well as how to support our guests.You will also assume a variety of responsibilities and duties such as recruiting and hiring restaurant staff, training, overseeing food quality, creating and executing restaurant marketing strategies. The day-to-day responsibilities such as greeting and serving restaurant guests, supporting service, and managing both back and front of house team members is essential. Below is a more detailed list of required duties.As we are located on the ground level of the Zachary Hotel, maintaining strong communication with the hotel’s Food and Beverage Director and General Manager is essential. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and the Culinary Director of Steingolds of Chicago. Basic Kitchen experience is required in either a fast-casual or full-service restaurant as well as experience in face-to-face customer service.Hotel relations Comfort level with using communication tools Slack / R365 / Toast / Google JOB DUTIES:Manage and oversee the entire restaurant operationDeliver exceptional guest servicesEnsuring guest satisfactionUpdate Toast POS on a daily basis to reflect correct counts of menu items Manage restaurant’s daily operations. Respond efficiently to customer questions and complaintsOrganize and supervise shiftsManage and lead staffDevelop hourly and salary for FOH and BOH positions. Hire new employeesTraining and evaluate staff performanceManage food cost, forecast requirements, and maintain inventoryManage restaurant supplies including small-wares and COGsControl costs and minimize wasteCreate and nurture a positive working environmentImplement innovative strategies to improve productivity, sales, and food quality.JOB REQUIREMENTS: 2+ years of experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role2+ years of experience customer service managementExtensive food, wine, beer and cocktail knowledgeComputer literacyFamiliarity with restaurant management software including Toast, Slack, Restaurant 365 and Gmail Strong leadership, motivational and people skillsGood financial management skillsCritical thinker and problem-solving skillsTeam playerGood time-management skillsGreat interpersonal and communication skillCulinary school diploma or BS degree in Business Administration
