Competitive Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance 401(k) Plan Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays Growth Opportunity: Join a growing, PE-backed food manufacturing leader with facilities across Illinois Stability & Scale: Work within an operation that supplies 6 of the top 10 global food retailers Collaborative Environment: Work cross-functionally with production, sanitation, USDA inspectors, and leadership Job Details KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee pre-operational and operational inspections, including all documentation review Perform daily HACCP observations and record reviews Conduct daily walkthroughs with the USDA Inspector on duty Monitor freezer and cooler temperatures and review daily receiving records Supervise QC Technicians; oversee training and professional development of direct and indirect reports Manage and document weekly environmental swabbing program; review test results and coordinate corrective actions as needed Collect and submit samples for microbiological testing; review results and initiate corrective actions Maintain and revise the Master Cleaning Schedule; monitor sanitation performance across all shifts Perform monthly internal audits and complete monthly KPI reports Lead HACCP and Food Quality Plan reassessments Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Food Safety and Food Quality fundamentals in compliance with SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing Manage corrective action report database and ensure measurable follow-through Monitor customer complaints and overall quality trends Maintain effective communication and working relationships with USDA inspectors and regulatory agencies Stay current with USDA regulations and applicable food safety requirements Coordinate with porters and production staff to maintain plant cleanliness inside and out Report unsafe conditions or acts to management; suggest process and cost improvement opportunities Assist in developing and executing department goals, objectives, and systems QUALIFICATIONS Needed: High School Diploma required HACCP Certification required SQF Certification required Associate's degree or 5+ years of experience in the food industry preferred Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience Experience working in a USDA-regulated facility and interfacing with USDA and Health Inspectors Knowledge of SSOP, GMP, and SQF requirements Bilingual - Spanish and English required Ability to respond to questions and complaints from customers and regulatory agencies Ability to cross-train staff and manage performance Physical requirements: ability to work in cold environments, lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods Interested in hearing more?
