Our Application Platform is critical to enable Benchling to expand its footprint into new product areas and support requirements for our enterprise customers.We partner with product engineering to ensure our platform integrates seamlessly with scientist-facing Benchling products. As an engineer on the Application Platform team youll design and build systems that are foundational to Benchlings long-term growth and operational excellence. Your work will span across application and platform teams directly influencing company-wide initiatives by enabling faster safer and more reliable software delivery for our customers.RESPONSIBILITIESDrive end-to-end delivery of large-scale application platform projects from early-stage ideation with cross-functional partners in Product and Customer Success to full rollout for end-users seamlessly integrating with AI driven experiences where they add the most value.Engineer across the full tech stack architect robust admin backend and APIs and build intuitive admin experiences that scale with our enterprise customers evolving needs. Ensure high quality and performance of our systems through comprehensive testing & monitoring.Collaborate deeply with product managers designers and engineering peers to craft thoughtful high-impact products that truly serve our users.Innovate boldly launch entirely new product experiences from scratch while also enhancing and refining our platform products to reach full enterprise grade maturity.Drive the evolution of our product platform and team. As a member of the engineering team you will be an integral part of how we mature our tooling engineering processes and hiring the best talent.QUALIFICATIONS8 years of professional software engineering experienceStrong coding skills and engineering fundamentals able to turn product requirements into well-architected maintainable and tested codeExperience building scalable reliable systems with attention to performance and user impactLeadership in engineering practices drives and upholds high standards in testing code quality reviews version control and team development workflowsProven ability to work across teams partnering with product design and platform groups to ship cohesive solutionsStrategic problem solving tackles complex ambiguous technical challenges with a focus on long-term impact scalability and user valueComfortable pushing back thoughtfully advocate for technical solutions that improve quality scalability and maintainabilityExperience mentoring others and contributing to team growth through onboarding pairing and process improvementClear and effective communicator especially in cross-functional settingsHOW WE WORKWe offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes in-office collaboration. Employees are expected to be on-site 3 days per week (Monday Tuesday and Thursday).SALARY RANGEBenchling takes a market-based approach to pay. The candidates starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills experience qualifications interview performance and work location.
