Core Responsibilities:
- Compounding Leadership: Oversee and perform the accurate preparation of non-sterile compounded medications, including creams, ointments, solutions, capsules, and specialty dosage forms.
- Clinical Oversight: Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, potential drug interactions, and appropriateness of the compound formula.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet rigorous quality standards and that compounding records/documentation are meticulously maintained in accordance with USP <795> standards.
- Prescriber & Patient Consultation: Serve as a clinical resource for providers and patients, offering expert advice on customized therapies and medication management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Operations Management: Manage inventory levels, oversee pharmacy technicians or interns, and ensure a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Active Pharmacist license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP).
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Experience: Previous experience in non-sterile compounding is highly preferred; however, we are willing to train a candidate with a strong clinical foundation and a passion for the craft.
- Technical Skills: Exceptional precision in pharmaceutical calculations and a deep understanding of chemical properties and stability.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership abilities, proactive problem-solving skills, and a "patient-first" communication style.
Schedule & Benefits:
- Status: Full-Time. (32 to 40 hours per week)
- Hours: Monday through Friday (standard business hours).
- Work-Life Balance: No weekends and no major holidays.
- $45.00 to $55.00 per hour.
