Job DescriptionJob Description Hope House Treatment Centers is in need of a cook that can help nourish our patients and serve them with respect and kindness. Multiple shifts available. Great Benefits for Full Time positions!JOB SUMMARY: The cook is responsible for providing safe and sanitary operations of the Food Service Department regarding the storage, preparation, and distribution of food, as well as the care and cleaning of equipment and washing dishes. The cook provides meals to patients and staff as required by the Kitchen Supervisor to insure appropriate dietary needs and compliance standards are met. COOK JOB DUTIES:Responsible for the maintenance of the sanitary condition of the kitchen, food storage areas, equipment, and food following COMAR regulations on all scheduled shiftsResponsible for the preparation and serving or wholesome, palatable, and attractive meals, on all scheduled shiftsResponsible for preparing food according to methods that preserve the nutritive value of the food and insure the safety of the food by utilizing HACCP procedures on all scheduled shiftsResponsible for procurement and storage of food as neededResponsible for maintaining food inventory, including food for therapeutic diets for patients, adequate to serve menus as writtenResponsible for supervising clients assigned to kitchen duty and reporting any problems to the supervisor.Responsible for special cleaning duties as assignedReports any and all problems, changes, or concerns regarding the department to the Kitchen SupervisorResponsible for following all kitchen protocols as developed for the Kitchen Supervisor, variances in procedure must be approved in advanceOther duties as determined by the Kitchen Supervisor.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Covid-19 Vaccines requiredPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
