Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:The purpose of a Fitter is to assemble metal parts using welding techniques and equipment.Requirements:ResponsibilitiesOperate hand grinders as neededUnderstanding how to properly clean and prep material before fittingAbility to use basic fabricating toolsKnowledge of a variety of hand tools and welding equipment.Ability to interpret blueprints and designAbility to add, subtract, and divide into all units of measuresFollow all safety rules and practices and safety protocolsAddress fitting issuesClean/finish welded surfacesEnsure compliance with industry standardsFit/align metal components accuratelyRead/interpret welding symbols/drawingsPrepare metal materialsPrepare Weld JointsOther duties assigned as neededSkills and QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED Must have communications skills Must pass a fitter testMust have understanding of MIG weldingAbility to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs Ability to read and follow welding symbols on blueprints Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environmentWork ScheduleMonday - Thursday10hr shifts6am-4:30pm (days)4:30pm-2:30am (nights)
