Job Quick Facts: • Specialty: Gastroenterology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Facility Location: Yakima, WA • Service Setting: Outpatient • Reason For Coverage: Supplemental • Coverage Period: Jan 06, 2025 - Ongoing • Coverage Type: Clinical only • Shift Schedule: TBD • Patient Volume: 14-16 • Support Staff: 1 NP/PA, 5 MAs, 7 Office Staff - W/ 1 FT provider, a PA-C & occasional shifts by employed GI. • Duties: - See more complicated liver & GI cases in addition to new referrals. - All standard clinic responsibilities including pathology review, referrals & answering questions the PA might have. • Required Procedures: - Pill Cam (required to interpret studies), peg tube exchange, Hemoccult test & Lidocaine injections. - Upper GI endoscopy: with biopsy, with foreign body removal, with fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), With injection of varices - Sigmoidoscopy: Flexible & Rigid - Colonoscopy: w/ biopsy & w/ excision of polyp • Trauma Level: III • EMR: Epic • Other Info: - If locum would prefer a hybrid schedule to include clinic shifts & procedure shifts (colonoscopy/endoscopy performed under conscious sedation at hospital), this is a possibility. - Not required to supervise APPs. • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges available: Yes • Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered Requirements: • Active WA License or IMLC • BC • BLS, ACLS
