Locum Physician - GastroenterologyJoin a leading healthcare provider in Richmond VA and become a part of a dynamic team at a well-established hospital. This facility is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care focusing on adult gastroenterology within a hospital setting that includes an onsite lab and X-ray services. We are seeking a locum physician to fill crucial weekend shifts due to a lack of coverage.Job Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive patient care in gastroenterology handling both outpatient and inpatient cases.Perform a variety of gastroenterology procedures including but not limited to:Esophageal Dilatation/ManometryColonoscopyUpper GI EndoscopyEndoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)Liver BiopsyInsertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore TubeManage and coordinate care through the Epic EMR system.Be available for 24-hour call shifts on weekends taking up to 8 procedures per weekend on average.Qualifications:Board Certified in Gastroenterology REQUIREDActive Virginia medical license REQUIREDFlu shot vaccination REQUIREDCOVID vaccination HIGHLY PREFERREDClean malpractice history necessary for temporary privileges REQUIREDAbility to perform ERCP REQUIREDLicense and Certification Requirements:Must possess a valid Virginia medical license.Board certification in Gastroenterology is a must.All providers must have adequate malpractice coverage with a requirement of $2.6 million effective 7/01/2023.Richmond Virginia is a vibrant city known for its rich history cultural diversity and an array of dining and entertainment options.
