However the power industry has not kept pace due to several unique challenges. The emergence of artificial intelligence presents a pivotal opportunity to redefine how the power industry interacts with and operates power plants.1) Assess and recommend advanced technologies for integration into the control room environment2) Design and prototype Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for evaluation leveraging physics based dynamic power plant simulations3) Collect and analyze user feedback from both internal and external stakeholders to refine designs that deliver tangible value to customers4) Prototype the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence into Human Machine Interfaces that optimize operator efficiencySkills Developed:UX/UI Design Principles: Application of best practices in user interface and user experience design focusing on simplicity and intuitivenessHuman Machine Interface (HMI) Development: Prototyping and testing interfaces tailored for industrial control environmentsUser Feedback Analysis: Gathering interpreting and applying feedback from stakeholders to inform design improvementsProblem Solving: Addressing industry-specific challenges and identifying innovative solutions for operational efficiencyAI Applications in Energy: Understanding how artificial intelligence can enhance control systems and user interfaces in the power sector.What Youll Bring (Basic Qualifications):Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.Minimum GPA of 4.0/5.0 scale no rounding.Desired Qualifications:Experience with Human Machine Interface DesignGraphic Design experienceAwareness of large language and small language artificial intelligence models and prompt engineeringBenefits Available to you: Addressing the climate crisis is an urgent global priority and at GE Vernova we take our responsibility seriously.
