This reporter will play a key role in our highly regarded community coveragewriting engaging features spotlighting local businesses and individuals and helping readers understand the forces shaping growth and change in the region.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce compelling feature stories on local restaurants businesses community members and events.Develop enterprise features on local agriculture medicine and other community institutions.Report on economic growth and development with a people-centered approach that connects policy business trends and everyday life.Contribute to additional assignments as needed including general news and community happenings.About the RoleThis is a part-time hourly position (up to 29 hours per week) with a schedule primarily Monday through Friday.The Intelligencer is part of Hearst providing strong mentorship a collaborative newsroom environment and opportunities for professional growth. The reasonable estimate if hired in Illinois is $15.75/hr to $17.00/hr. Please note this information is specific to those hired in this role is open to candidates outside of Illinois the salary range would be aligned to that specific location.
