We invite you to start your career journey with us and look forward to hearing from you.Job Summary Chartwells Higher Ed is seeking a dynamic and growth minded GENERAL MANAGER to lead the CAMPUS dining and catering at St. Edwards University in AUSTIN TX. You will be responsible for maintaining this FEE account in accordance with the approved budget while meeting client expectations. You will be expected to maintain excellent relationships with students faculty guests and the client as well as other departments within the operation. Along side of your Executive Chef and Director of Dining the leadership team will be responsible for promoting the professional growth and development of the entire food service operation. You will also foster strong interdepartmental relations and integrate the dining services department across the university!Key Responsibilities:Participates in employee meetings reviews and training programsManages in compliance with Company established policies and proceduresManages in compliance with local state and federal laws and regulationsMaintains food cost while ensuring quality standardsEstablishes and maintains good rapport with staff client and guest and other departmentsManages financial acumen for all areas including financial reporting with sales reports writing and adhering to annual budgets and cash handlingAnalyzes and creates trends for financial dataManages purchasing and inventory controlsPlans menus in consultation with chefsIs knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of foodPreferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree is preferred or equivalent professional experienceEight to ten years upscale food service experience including six years experience at the management levelExperience in personnel management including hiring supervision evaluation and succession planningProven track record to achieve company goals in compliance with company/client policies and proceduresExcellent leadership and organizational skills and must possess attention to detailSupervisory scheduling training and coaching skillsEffective problem solving and conflict management skillsAbility to multi-task as well as stay on task and concentrate with constant interruptionsExperience in food purchasing food costs and inventory controlAbility to create budgets flash reports financial targets and forecastsKnowledge of cash handling procedures and reconciliation of multiple cash banks and reportsMust be knowledgeable on HACCP controls along with proper storage and use of foodMonitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and servingExceptional business etiquette and client relationsManages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlinesStrong catering experience requiredConformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behaviorExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word Excel and PowerPointServSafeApply to Chartwells Higher Education today!Chartwells Higher Education is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass StoryCompass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
