Job DescriptionAfton Scientific is a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) in Virginia that specializes in small-batch filling of injectables from clinical trials to approved commercial drugs.Utilizing 35,000 Sq. It offers top-quality pre-sterilized components to those who can fill in-house.Serving clients in 18 CountriesSuccessful NDA and ANDA drug registrationsIn good standing with the FDA, PMDA, and MHRAPosition SummaryThe Manager, Materials Control is responsible for material planning, procurement and inventory control.Essential Functions:Management of the material planning and procurement process and inventory controlOversight of materials warehousePerform incoming material processing, allocation and reconciliationMaintain custody of materials not in productionInteract with clients as is relates to client specific inventoryWrite, review, edit and approve master documents as applicable: SOPs, reports, specifications, policies, and directivesAssist in the execution of studies and qualifications of equipment and processes, as neededWrite/Review/Approve (as applicable):Operational Deviations Reports (ODR)Change Management DocumentationSupplier NonconformancesPerform supplier audits, as neededPerform internal auditsOnsite attendance required. (Being physically present at work on a regular basis is considered a critical part of performing the job duties)Must be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, subordinates, and vendors.Required Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required or 5 years prior experience in a materials management roleGeneral business operations knowledge and experience, particularly with inventory control systems, preferably in a cGMP environmentJob functions cannot be performed remotely.Basic computer skills (including MS Word, MS Excel); ability to learn other database software,Dress, speak and act in professional manner Work Environment:Office working environmentPhysical Demands:Must be able to move up to 25 lbs. daily as part of incoming raw material, staging, and warehouse activities.PandoLogic.
