Job Title: Member Service Representative

Location: Akron, OH

Contract Length: 5.5 Months

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Member Service Representative to provide exceptional customer support and personalized service to members regarding health insurance, benefits, eligibility, claims, billing, and authorizations. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced call center or administrative support environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized assistance to members by phone, electronically, or in person regarding enrollment, benefits, eligibility, claims, billing, and authorizations
  • Handle member questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and efficiently
  • Document all member interactions accurately within tracking systems
  • Route inquiries appropriately for timely resolution
  • Maintain confidentiality of member health and business information
  • Meet departmental quality and productivity standards
  • Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and excellent customer service during all interactions
  • Utilize internal systems including EMR platforms, Amisys, Macess, and other customer service tools
  • Work collaboratively with management and other departments to resolve member concerns
  • Organize workload and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Follow all regulatory, departmental, and company policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College experience preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years of customer service, call center, or administrative support experience
  • Medicare and/or health insurance experience strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with Windows-based computer systems
  • Comfortable using office equipment, headset systems, VPN, WiFi, and computer applications
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and empathy during member interactions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a remote work environment after training
