Job Description SummaryThe Generator Mechanical Engineer role is an individual contributor responsible for the conceptual design performance analysis and verification of product components and systems. This involves the application of Chemical Thermo-Mechanical Electrical and Physical (Mechanical) properties of materials and products. Other activities will be interfacing and supporting manufacturing suppliers and business partners to assure that design and test intent from conceptual definition to finished product is achieved. The engineer has wide latitude for independent action judgment and decision making. The role requires qualities to integrate successfully into a global team of engineers. He or she must also take direction from other members of the design team and actively take on independent actions for testing and data analysis. There is an expectation for hands on testing and sample preparation for Generator materials.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. Follows an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives. Has the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.Execute with guidance from senior engineering resources design test or integration required to define and support assigned components assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirementsHands on product design test preperation and testing to meet GES quality and design standardsSupport manufacturing sourcing field services and installation activities as required for generator components with a focus on non-metallic materialsPrepare and present technical data to internal and external customersDocument and communicate results of technical data generated through design and/or testingParticipate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiativesShare engineering information and promote open dialogueProvide the GES engineering team support for new and ongoing innovation/design improvementsSupport GE Vernova Gas Power manufacturing facilities with ongoing quality assurance testing and evaluationRequired QualificationsBS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent credentialsDesired CharacteristicsExperience in field of power generationFamiliarity with design test and analysis tools and systemsStrong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsAdditional InformationGE Vernova offers a great work environment professional development challenging careers and competitive compensation. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
