We are committed to scientific integrity, collegiality, honesty, objectivity, and openness.As the Genetic Data Scientist Intern, this role will involve exploring and analyzing data, building models, as well as applying image processing techniques to drive our research and development efforts. This role will work heavily with our AI/ML and bioinformatics teams.We are looking for individuals who are curious, love to learn and want to make an impact on some cutting-edge projects for our Summer 2025 Internships. Our program has multiple elements (no pun intended) to ensure that you have a well-rounded summer to help identify your strengths and work on areas of development, to an Executive Series where you get to meet our Leadership team and ask them questions about their careers, about the products or anything else which interests you. And, finally, you get to work on a project which will actually be rolled into the product roadmap.This role will report to the Staff Scientist, Data and will be a San Diego based role.If you possess the following and want to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to explore this role.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Analyze and interpret multiomic, single-cell, and sequencing data to derive meaningful insightsDevelop and implement machine learning models to support various research projectsApply image processing techniques to analyze biological imagesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute experimentsExplore and analyze large datasets to identify patterns and trendsCommunicate findings and insights to stakeholders through reports and presentationsEducation and Experience:Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related fieldExperience in data science and machine learning techniquesExperience in working with multiomic and single-cell data is a plusExperience with computer vision is a plusStrong background in statistics is a plusProficiency in common data science tools and programming languages such as Python, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas and other relevant toolsExperience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS)Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databasesKnowledge of experimental design and statistical analysisExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication and collaboration skillsPhysical Requirements:Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 20 poundsLocation: San Diego - onsiteTravel: N/A Job Type:Intern/Non-exemptBase Compensation Pay Range:$25 - 40/hr Please note: Compensation will depend on multiple factors, including degree and experience level.
