Geophysicist, Sr. at Crescent

Position SummaryThe Sr.Geophysicist will be responsible for applying technical evaluations to the development and production of oil and gas reservoirs to obtain a high economic recovery. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support optimal asset development and operations leveraging fundamental geoscience skills in petroleum systems stratigraphy and basin studies. Directly responsible for data analysis covering the characterization of source rocks migration reservoir seals and traps integrating knowledge of structural geology sedimentology geochemistry petrophysics and geophysics.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesGenerate integrated structural and stratigraphic interpretations using seismic and other subsurface geological and geophysical data .Maintain asset characterizations of hydrocarbon volumes subsurface controls and risks and integrated recovery expectations.Generate optimal field development plans including but not limited to delineation of acreage appraisal of multiple landing targets and the economic justification for proper well spacing.Work with Development team on recommendations for data acquisition leasing and drilling projects.Support the Operations Geologist with well planning the pre-spud process and drilling and completions activity.Work closely with completions and operations engineers to design and propose optimal frac designs and develop drawdown strategies.Evaluate and integrate competitor activity and results.Provide analysis and support for non-op activity recommendations and decisions.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networksCollaborate with the Business Development team on acquisition opportunities.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Education Experience LicensureBachelor of Science Degree in Geology Geophysics or related field of studyFive to ten (5-10) years of Exploration & Production (E&P) or relevant geoscience experienceProficiency with Kingdom softwarePossess valid drivers license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Companys Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehiclePreferred Education Experience LicensureMaster of Science Degree in Geophysics or GeologyExperience with acquisition and processing of geophysical dataExperience in the Permian Uinta and/or South Texas BasinsWorking knowledge of advanced geophysical interpretation techniques such as attribute and inversion analysisExperience with gravity and magnetics dataKnowledge and experience with unconventional developmentDevelopment planning and/or operations experienceRequired Core Competencies Knowledge Skills AbilitiesData analysis and geologic mapping.Experience using GIS software and analysis tools.Familiarity with Spotfire and/or Power BI.Familiarity with Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint.Ability to identify issues troubleshoot and develop solutions.Strong analytical math and problem-solving skills to be able to make accurate calculations identify deficiencies address weaknesses and how to improve them.Excellent interpersonal presentation verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to management and across field and office peers.Demonstrate high ethical and professional behavior and decision making when working with others.Able to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities tasks and deadlines.Good interpersonal and collaborative skills.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and foster and encourage teamwork.Ability to safely operate vehicles equipment and tools.Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.Crescent Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
