OverviewPresbyterian is seeking a GI Lab Technician to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an Outpatient Clinic. Common responsibilities include assisting the provider with procedures setting up equipment and supplies. High level disinfection of all instruments and equipment. Minimum 1 year customer service experience required hospital or outpatient setting preferred.Experience or training in GI Lab procedure room setting is preferred but not required. Receives on the job training and competency verification to perform primary functions. BLS required.ResponsibilitiesAdheres to proper procedures of aseptic technique and safety in the use of instruments and equipment.Secures and prepares all supplies and instruments required for diagnostics and therapeutic intervention before procedures.Position and re-position patient during procedures.Helps monitor patients during procedure.Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase.Ensures that specimens are correctly handled and routed to the proper source.Assist in taking patient vital signs and reporting them to nursing staffAssist in recovery room with ambulating patients cleaning soiled stretchers and dressing cleaned stretchersBenefitsWere all about well-being starting with yours.
