Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: We atBohemia Interactive Simulationsare a well-established company specializing in the development of world-leading, game-based military simulations for major NATO powers and their allies. Our mission is to advance the industry by leveraging the latest technologies and trends, including whole-world simulation, virtual reality, motion tracking, and AI.Senior Geospatial Application Engineer working with our Mantle Product team to develop and support virtual terrain generation tools for military simulation and training systems.Objectives:Develop and maintain software tools for generating synthetic environments and integrating them into military simulation systems.Automate geospatial data workflows using scripting languages and GIS technologies for efficient and accurate terrain production.Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across Windows and Linux environments to ensure reliable system performance.Collaborate with internal teams and customers to define requirements, deliver solutions, and support system deployments.Contribute to continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies and methods to enhance terrain quality and production efficiency.Key Areas of Responsibility:Develop, integrate, and maintain applications used for virtual terrain generation and visualization.Convert GIS data and 3D model content into formats used by simulation systems.Participate in design reviews, testing, and deployment of new features.Document workflows, data pipelines, and code.Support demonstrations, field testing, and deployment activities as needed.Test terrain products within simulation and visualization systems to validate accuracy and performance.Stay current with emerging geospatial and simulation technologies to recommend improvements and drive innovation in terrain generation.Actively mentor less experienced engineersManage, oversee, and direct development projectsSkills:Experience with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, GDAL, PostGIS)Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Powershell, Bash, Tcl)Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in Windows and Linux environmentsExcellent critical thinking, organization, and communication skillsSelf-starter with strong initiative and follow-throughExcellent memory and reading comprehensionStrong customer interaction skillsEducation/Experience:Bachelors degree in Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience 5+ years of professional experience in software development, GIS data processing, or simulation technologyAdditional Attributes:Experience with 3D Terrain engines or simulation systems (e.g., VBS4, Unreal, Unity, OneSAF)Knowledge of 3D modeling or terrain rendering conceptsExperience in defense simulation or training programsFamiliarity with Agile development processes and version control (Git)Familiarity with cloud computing (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes)Leadership experienceWhat you will get:You start with 15 days of vacation, 3 years 20 days, and 5 years 25 daysThere are 14 paid holidaysBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, STD & LTD, FSAVoluntary Benefits: pet insurance, home & Auto Insurance, Identity theft protection, legal plan, accident insuranceTriNet perks with discounts and deals, attractions, concerts, car rental, hotels, etc.Hybrid work environment
