We are seeking someone to join our team as a Global Financial Crimes (GFC) : Admin and Operations Officer.In the Legal & Compliance division we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firms management of legal regulatory and franchise risk. This is a Vice President level position within the GFC Management team which is responsible for personnel management (including temporary resources and interns) budget tracking system entitlements/enhancements outsourcing governance and business continuity planning..Since 1935 Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.In Global Financial Crimes (GFC) you will play a critical role in identifying potentially suspicious activity protecting vulnerable individuals and safeguarding the integrity of the financial system. GFC coordinates day-to-day implementation of the Firms financial crime prevention efforts. Including governance oversight and execution of the Firms Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Sanctions Anti-Corruption and Government and Political Activities Compliance programs.If you are passionate about financial crimes prevention seeking a rewarding and dynamic career and focused on making a difference then GFC might be the right team for you.What youll do in the role:Operate at a tactical strategic and operational level handling cross-functional initiatives facilitating special projects and ensuring action items are executed on behalf of the GFC Admin & Ops teamMonitoring GFCs oversight of outsourced arrangements to ensure effective oversight is being carried out and is evidenced key policies and documents are in place and ongoing due diligence is conductedCollaborate with Finance Compliance and other relevant stakeholders to document new outsourcing engagements or changes to existing arrangements.Develop an understanding of GFC-related systems applications shared folders and ad hoc software licenses and action permission requests from employees and contingent workers.Assist with requests related to GFCs employee engagement agenda (i.e. events employee communications town halls)Provide project management support across GFC to track identify and report on program enhancements and operational efficienciesWhat youll bring to the role:8 years of experience in a business operations role within financial services or equivalentStrong analytical thinking and critical reasoning skillsExcellent time management skills and the ability to execute tasks within tight deadlinesStrong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with the skills to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environmentExcellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively and develop partnerships with colleagues across regions and business unitsStrong written and verbal communications skills and attention to detailThe ability to research and resolve issues independentlyBe able to handle highly confidential information professionally and with appropriate discretionBe certified as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist by ACAMS or equivalent AML certification/license - or certification within 15 months of hireWhere youll be workingThis role will require in office attendance 3 days/week. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
