Who We are looking forAct as the enterprise product and portfolio leader for Data & AI, defining strategy, owning the roadmap, and ensuring disciplined execution and value realization—while delivering clear, compelling communication to internal and external stakeholders.What you will be responsible forThe Head of Data & AI Strategy, Portfolio & Value serves as the central product and portfolio management authority for all Data & AI initiatives across State Street.This role operates at the intersection of strategy, product management, and executive communication, ensuring that Data & AI investments are:Strategically aligned to business prioritiesStructured as coherent, product-oriented roadmapsTransparently tracked and measured for valueEffectively communicated to employees, clients, and investorsThe role requires a leader who combines deep understanding of data and AI platforms with modern product management discipline and the ability to deliver high-quality executive narratives and artifacts.This leader will run a small, high-impact team responsible for managing the end-to-end Data & AI portfolio, driving roadmap clarity, and producing high-quality materials for executive, board, client, and investor consumption.Success is measured by clarity of strategy, portfolio discipline, roadmap execution, and quality of internal and external communication.What you will be responsible for Enterprise Data & AI StrategyDefine and evolve the enterprise Data & AI strategy aligned to:Business priorities across State StreetPlatform-led transformation objectivesEmerging industry and technology trendsTranslate strategy into clear product-aligned roadmaps across:Data platformsAI platforms (ML, GenAI, Agentic AI)Enterprise AI use casesProduct & Portfolio ManagementAct as the enterprise product manager for the Data & AI portfolioOwn the end-to-end lifecycle of the portfolio, including:Intake and shaping of initiativesPrioritization and sequencingRoadmap definition and maintenanceStructure initiatives as products and capabilities, not one-off projectsEnsure alignment across:Platform teams (Data & AI Platforms)Enablement teamsLines of BusinessRoadmap Ownership & Execution TrackingMaintain a single, integrated enterprise roadmap for Data & AIDrive deep tracking of delivery against roadmap commitments, including:MilestonesDependenciesOutcomesEstablish strong portfolio discipline through:Regular reviewsProgress reportingIssue escalation and resolutionEnsure transparency across senior stakeholdersValue Realization & Outcome MeasurementDefine and implement clear value realization frameworks, including:Revenue growthCost efficiency and productivity gainsClient impact and experienceTrack outcomes at both:Initiative levelPortfolio levelEstablish fact-based reporting of realized vs. expected valueExecutive, Investor & Client CommunicationOwn creation of high-quality strategic and product narratives for:Executive leadership and BoardInvestor communicationsClient engagement and differentiationDevelop polished artifacts including:Strategy decksRoadmaps and capability modelsProgress and value realization reportsTranslate complex Data & AI capabilities into clear, compelling business storiesDemand Shaping & Use Case DefinitionPartner with Lines of Business to:Identify high-value opportunitiesShape them into well-defined product use casesEnsure strong linkage between:Business outcomesPlatform capabilitiesRoadmap prioritiesPortfolio Governance (Execution Discipline, Not Control)Establish a lightweight but rigorous portfolio management operating modelDrive consistency in:Initiative definitionPrioritization criteriaTracking and reportingEnable faster decision-making through structured portfolio insightsTeam LeadershipBuild and lead a small, high-performing team covering:Product and portfolio managementStrategy and roadmap planningExecutive communication and content developmentFoster a culture of:Precision and clarityStrong execution disciplineHigh-quality, polished outputEducation and Preferred Qualifications Senior leadership experience in product management, strategy, or portfolio leadership, preferably in:Leading technology firmsFinancial services or peer institutionsStrong background in:Data platforms and data strategyAI/ML, Generative AI, and emerging AI capabilitiesProven track record as:A product-oriented leader, not just a strategistA portfolio operator managing complex, cross-functional initiativesExceptional ability to create executive-level and external-facing contentStrong understanding of:Product roadmapsUser journeysPlatform adoption dynamicsLeadership ProfileProduct-first thinker with strong strategic orientationHighly structured, detail-oriented, and execution-focusedExceptional communicator with ability to influence at the executive levelComfortable operating across business, technology, and client contextsBrings a high bar for quality, clarity, and storytellingSalary Range: $225,000 - $337,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
