Job Title: Graphic Designer I Location: MGA - Macon Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 293193 About Us Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Job Summary This position will provide support to the University's marketing/advertising/creative services team by assisting with specific assignments related to marketing, advertising and recruitment collateral development, design and production, and content creation that enhance internal and external communication.Responsibilities Graphic Design (80%) - Develop, create and design marketing, advertising, recruiting and promotional materials - including information sheets, brochures, bi-folds, posters, flyers, banners, mailers, signage, programs, view books, documents, presentations, billboards, digital and print ads, social media images, etc. - that are visually appealing and consistent throughout marketing campaigns Develop and design creative collateral, including print/traditional mediums, digital channels and digitally created visual imageryProvide photography services to include taking portraitures for faculty/staff and photos for advertising and recruitment collateral, editing and retouching imagery, and take supplemental photographs for marketing-related projects as-neededCreate graphics that continue to reinforce the University's brand and highlight students, faculty, staff, programs, services and accomplishments Create original artwork that supports and upholds the institution's visual identity standards and digital content in support of the University's marketing objectivesPlanning (10%) - Collaborate with internal departments and external entities; create and maintain collateral materials for University clients and use these products to build the MGA brandOther Duties (10%) - Assist with a wide range of internal and external communications for the Office of Marketing & CommunicationsPerform other related duties as assignedTravel to campuses as neededRequired Qualifications Educational RequirementsBachelor's degree in marketing, new media, IT, or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experienceOther Required QualificationsKnowledge of digital information, including file types, compatibility, and usagesProficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows, and Apple Mac OSX platformProficiency in editing photography Ability to multi-task projects/assignments and be adaptable as needed.Strong writing, grammar and editing skillsHigh attention to detail, with the ability to write clearly and review content thoroughlySuperior interpersonal and communication skillsRequired ExperienceExperience in Adobe Creative cloud, minimally Acrobat Pro, InDesign, Illustrator and PhotoshopExperience with social media platforms and their associated static creatives, to include the ability to create appropriate graphics for each platformPreferred Qualifications Preferred ExperienceExperience working with creative teams in marketing and advertisingKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of graphic design concepts Knowledge of design platforms, in particular Adobe Creative SuiteSkill in artistic interpretationSkill in interpersonal relations and dealing with clientsSkill in content review and copy editingSkill in decision-making and problem solvingUSG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
