Grinding Technician - 1st Shift at Award Staffing

Job Description

About the Opportunity:
• Job Title: Grinding Technician
• Pay Rate: $25.00-$30.00/Hour
• Location: Maple Plain, MN
• Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30AM-4PM with required overtime.
• Position Type: Temp to Hire

Requirements and Qualifications:
1. 2 years of mold making experience required:
2. o Precision Grinding.
3. o CNC set up and operation.
4. o Experience with Mastercam software.
5. Able to read blueprints and drawings.
6. Someone dependable, self-motivated, and eager to learn.
7. Comfortable taking ownership of your work and taking pride in the finished product.
8. Mechanical aptitude - Examples include:
9. o Rebuilding engines or working on vehicles.
10. o Fixing small engines or power tools.
11. o Tinkering with bikes, robotics, or 3D printing.
12. o Working with wood or metal in a hobbyist or professional setting.
13. Ability to read precision instruments like micrometers and calipers.
14. Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs and stand for an entire shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operate manual and CNC surface grinders to grind steel components to exacting tolerances.
2. Fit and assemble locks, cams, rails, and precision components into custom injection molds.
3. Work from blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
4. Collaborate closely with peers and management to complete projects accurately and efficiently.
5. Use micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools to ensure precision.
6. Apply basic math and trigonometry to your work.
