Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCAMP BOW WOW, VIRGINIA BEACH GROOMER JOB DESCRIPTION -  Job descriptionCamp Bow Wow Virginia Beach is THE premier doggy day care and boarding facility in Hampton Roads, and we are ready to become THE premier grooming facility as well. We are now hiring a professional groomer who is dedicated to their work and takes pride in the quality of their work. The ideal groomer is someone who is customer-obsessed (both dogs and humans) and works well independently but also in a team setting. The position is compensated by commission plus tips.You will have input in setting the price schedule and curating our grooming services offering.We provide all the major equipment and supplies including bathing tubs, portable dryer(s), drying cages, grooming solutions, cleaning supplies, utilities, etc.You provide your preferred shears, scissors, etc.Primary Responsibilities - Admit pets to be groomed noting owner's specific instructions, contact information and pick up time.Bathing, brushing, heavy lifting, shaving and scissor trimming.Ear cleaning, plucking, nail trimming, and expression of anal glands.Perform all general maintenance of grooming room; clean and disinfect cages, tubs, grooming tables daily; vacuum floor; mop floor; empty trash; clean clipper blades, scissors and brushes after use; perform monthly dryer and clipper maintenance.Other tasks as deemed necessary by the General ManagerAdditional Essential Skills - 1.     Must have at least ONE year of current, professional grooming experience and have gone through a formal training program.2.     Ability to groom based on general breed standards and customer requests3.     Photos/portfolio of your work is required at interview4.     Ability to work independently and as a team5.     Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to remain calm under pressure and during stressful situations6.     Able to work with a large variety of dog breeds with dogs up to 100+ lbs7.     Able to interact with customers in a warm, friendly and professional manner8.     Provides breed-specific standard grooms, and /or follow clients instructions so pets are groomed to specifications and satisfaction of the client.9.     Great scissoring skillsRequirementsLOVE of Dogs AND PeopleExcellent Customer ServiceMust be authorized to work in the United StatesMust have reliable transportation and have a track record for working your scheduled hoursMust have a valid driver's licenseGroomer will report to the - Owner/ManagerScheduling Availability - Part time position to start (approximately 20-24 hrs/wk) with the ability to move up to full time as the grooming business escalates.
