Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) is looking for an Experienced or Senior Ground Systems Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to join our team in El Segundo, California, to work on the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communication (ESS) Program.Boeing has won a $2.8 billion contract from the U.S. Space Force for the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communications (ESS) program, a key component of the nation's nuclear command, control and communications (NC3) architecture. This contract includes the delivery of two satellites, with options for two additional satellites to provide space-based communications for strategic forces worldwide. The ESS program is designed to provide protected connectivity, crucial for maintaining strategic communication capabilities even in the face of adversary attempts to disrupt it.Position Responsibilities: Develops In Band Command and Control software requirementsDefines and develops test requirements, test plans, procedures, and schedulesIntegrates In Band Command and Control software into ESS systemLeads execution, analysis, and preparation of test results to support verification and validationEvaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfacesLeads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architectureLeads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission successLeads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processesInterface with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external customersThis position is expected to be 100% onsite.
