Ground Systems Engineer (Experienced or Senior) for ESS ProgramCompany:The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Space Intelligence and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Ground and Mission Systems Engineering (GMSE) is looking for an Experienced or Senior Ground Systems Engineer (Level 3 or 4) to join our team in El Segundo California to work on the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communication (ESS) Program.Boeing has won a $2.8 billion contract from the U.S. Space Force for the Evolved Strategic Satellite Communications (ESS) program a key component of the nations nuclear command control and communications (NC3) contract includes the delivery of two satellites with options for two additional satellites to provide space-based communications for strategic forces worldwide. The ESS program is designed to provide protected connectivity crucial for maintaining strategic communication capabilities even in the face of adversary attempts to disrupt it.Position Responsibilities: Develops In Band Command and Control software requirementsDefines and develops test requirements test plans procedures and schedulesIntegrates In Band Command and Control software into ESS systemLeads execution analysis and preparation of test results to support verification and validationEvaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical functional and program interfacesLeads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architectureLeads analyses for affordability safety reliability maintainability testability human systems integration survivability vulnerability susceptibility system security regulatory certification product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission successLeads develops maintains and identifies improvements the planning organization implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes tools risk issues opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processesInterface with cross-functional teams senior leadership and external customersThis position is expected to be 100% onsite.
