Bridge Inspector Structures & Bridge Design Group at Timmons Group

We are currently seeking an experienced NBIS-Certified Bridge Inspector to join our Richmond Virginia office location.  This individual will be responsible for conducting biennial safety inspections as defined by NBIS and VDOT IIM-S&B-27.9.  This will include element level inspection with documentation of National Bridge Elements (NBEs) Bridge Management Elements (MBEs) and Agency Developed Elements (ADEs).  The inspection is typically performed with a team of two (2) inspectors one of which will satisfy the requirements of Team Leader as defined by NBIS and VDOT IIM-S&B-78.1.  An interest in bridge design and drafting is a plus as there is an opportunity to also conduct this work.  This position can be part-time.Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Conduct bridge and structure safety inspections as a member of a bridge safety teamAuthor inspection reportsReview inspection reports conducted by othersCarry and use ladders to access structuresSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Current NBIS certification as a Bridge Inspector Team Leader certification is a plusBachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program is a plusIdeal candidates will have a minimum of two years experienceStrong communication and technical writing skills both oral and writtenProficiency in the use of computersMust have a valid drivers licenseAdditional Information : The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge skills and/or abilities required.
