Our extensive array of community-based services are fully integrated, bilingual and culturally competent.POSITION OVERVIEWUnder the supervision of the Department Manager, shall be responsible for working with the framework of La Casita III Preschool Program and carrying out its functions, policies and procedure. Work with children to provide a safe and nurturing environment for social and academic growth. Provide supervision, discipline and other forms of general care, in addition to helping with instruction and clerical work. Good communication and interpersonal skills.KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe head teacher of a given group of children:To plan and execution of the Preschool component of La Casita III for children which takes into account the educational, social, developmental and health needs to the group, as well as the individual child.To share responsibility for keeping equipment and material accessible and in good condition in order to encourage maximum constructive use by the childrenTo share responsibility for removing or reporting any damaged or hazardous equipment to the Child Education Coordinator or other designated person so that necessary action may be taken.To share responsibility for planning and supervising an appropriate arrangement of classroom equipment and furniture designed to promote optimal program functioningTo assist in the overall planning for the best use of shared in relation to the total center programTo assist the Department Manager in planning the use of community resources to enrich the educational content of the children’s programResponsibility for Professional GrowthTo share with classroom associates their mutual knowledge and understanding of La Casita III Program and the sponsoring agency of which the center is a part ofTo promote his or her own professional growth of development through participation in regularly scheduled individual conference, classroom group conferences, staff meetings and Early Childhood TrainingsTo share with other classroom personnel the performance of routine chores related to all areas of the programTo participate in objective discussions on his/her own professional performance in supervisory conference with the Department MangerDeveloping and Maintaining a Positive Working Relationship with ParentsAdhering to the approved plan by which information concerning the children and program can be shared with the parentsReport any suspect Ensure children are monitored for signs of child abuse or maltreatment and reports of incidents must be given to the appropriate authoritiesAttending and participating in parenting education groups and trainingRespecting the confidential nature of all information about parents and childrenMaintaining good working relations and objective attitudes with other center personnelMeet all applicable licensing regulationsOther related duties, as assigned, consistent with the above and including the fulfillment of full program responsibility for the group in the absence of the group teacherAny other task and/or duties delegated by Manager/Program DirectorREQUIREMENTSMasters, BA in Early Childhood Education, or Related fieldTeaching State CertificationMust have experience working with children or caring for small children age 0 through 5 years oldConsistent with the above and including the fulfillment of full program responsibility for the program in the absence of the department mangerMust be passionate about infant mental health, the parent-child relationship, and child developmentWHY JOIN US?Acacia Network provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to our employees.
