Pratt & Whitney has an immediate opportunity within GTF Aftermarket Accounting team in the P&W Commercial Finance organization for an Accounting Analyst.

This will be a hybrid work opportunity based out of our East Hartford, Connecticut campus location.

What You Will Do

The GTF Aftermarket Accounting team in the P&W Commercial Finance organization is responsible for monthly financial reporting and analysis of all aspects of the GTF Aftermarket business including a portfolio of approximately 80 long-term maintenance contracts valued at over $80B.

Looking for a strong candidate to support the very complex GTF Aftermarket business in its forecasted exponential growth over the next several years. As the GTF program continues to mature, the environment is constantly changing allowing a motivated candidate to flourish.

In this position you will have the opportunity to interact with many cross functional areas including Aftermarket Operations (MRO Shops), Engine Services Operations and Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and others.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Primarily responsible for accounting for Fleet Management Program (FMP) aftermarket contracts related to the 24K fleets (long term EAC/revenue recognition accounting).
  • Perform month end closing, reporting and analysis activities related to the GTF aftermarket process. Partner closely with Engine Services Finance and FP&A to ensure results are accurately reported and in-line with expectations to effectively manage the aftermarket portfolio and determine contract strategy.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Support compliance with internal controls and internal and external audits.
  • Spearhead process and system improvements needed to support growing volume.
  • Liaise with external program partners to provide accounting results to support their regulatory reporting.
  • Work cross functionally to support the creation of new processes for new business arrangements and product offerings.
  • Provide reporting and support analysis of contract performance used to run the GTF Engine business.
  • Obtain a comprehensive understanding of the complete GTF Aftermarket value stream from spares sales to overhaul and repair shop activities to customer contract support and administration working with many cross functional areas in and outside of finance.
  • Support ad hoc projects and business transactions to support the growth and evolution of the GTF Aftermarket.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance; OR an advanced degree in accounting or finance and 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong MS Excel & MS PowerPoint.
  • Strong data analytics skills and interpersonal skills with ability to work with individuals and/or team at all levels.
  • US Citizenship required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in the Aerospace industry.
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Experience in SAP.
