There is no additional compensation for travel.SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESThe Handyman 3 is responsible for performing a variety of repair, maintenance, and improvement tasks in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a versatile skill set and the ability to work independently to address a wide range of issues. The Handyman plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of properties.SCHEDULED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Fix and troubleshoot issues with doors, windows, locks, and other fixtures. Repair or replace damaged drywall, tiles, flooring, and other surfaces. Paint interior and exterior surfaces to maintain or enhance appearance. Install and assemble furniture, shelving, appliances, and other items. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential maintenance needs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from clients or tenants. Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and other seasonal tasks as needed. Communicate effectively with clients, tenants, and property managers.UNSCHEDULED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist supervisor with work related requests. Responsible for following regulations of COMAR, CARF, any other regulatory body, and company policies/ procedures related to service delivery and documentation and co-facilitating orientation of all new hires to these as well. Support the maintenance of a safe environment by participating in training and drills as requested. Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients treatment. Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/CSA/OHCQ) as directed by the supervisor. Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement plans by completing periodic audits or other activities to ensure regulatory compliance and/or improve service delivery.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 100 pounds; and regularly drives a motor vehicle.WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions. May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Exposure to potentially hazardous materials, heights, and tight spaces. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in certain situations.QualificationsCOMPETENCY / EXPERIENCE: Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role. Proficiency in a variety of trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor. Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules. Continuous learning and willingness to expand skills and knowledge.EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification is a plus.REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
