Job Description

Orbex Group is a worldwide industry-leading electric motor and slip ring supplier based in Austin, Texas. We have international and domestic slip ring and motor manufacturing facilities to supply our global customers with the best products at the best prices.

Due to great growth in the current economic climate, Orbex Group is looking for an experienced Hardware Product/Marketing Manager role leading activities from development to Go-to-Market strategy of new products for Orbex Group while playing a major role in execution. This challenging role will help Orbex Group define which new products should be brought to market based on customer needs while enabling the organization to strategically plan and execute, bringing these projects to life.

Candidates will be interacting regularly with team members, customers and business partners to ensure we meet customer and market needs while developing high performance products. This role is full-time and is an on-site position at our Austin, TX headquarter facility.

Objectives of this Role

  • Product Strategy: Developing and executing a comprehensive product strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conducting market research to identify trends, competition, and customer preferences. Analyzing data and feedback to make informed decisions about the product's features, pricing, and positioning in the market.
  • Product Planning and Road mapping: Creating a product roadmap that outlines the planned features, enhancements, and milestones for the product's development and release. Prioritizing tasks and resources effectively to meet deadlines and deliver a successful product.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with various teams such as engineering, design, and sales to ensure effective product development and launch. Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and gather feedback throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Product Launch and Adoption: Planning and executing successful product launches, including coordinating marketing efforts, training sales teams, and driving user adoption.
  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Tracking and analyzing key performance metrics to measure the product's success
  • Product Evangelism: Serving as a champion for the product, both internally and externally.

Skills and Qualifications

  1. Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as business, marketing, computer science, engineering or Product management certification.
  2. 5-7 years of Product Management Experience
  3. Technical Knowledge of Electric motors is a must, slip ring and robotics/autonomous robots are a plus
  4. Leadership and ability to work with small cross-functional teams, with the ability to lead by example.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient Microsoft applications such as Office 365 Suite. (Business central familiarity is a plus)
  • Previous experience with strategizing product launches and managing product lines (motors or similar electrical component/equipment)
  • Deep and thorough understanding of project management fundamentals with experience in working with Agile and traditional waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Experience working in the electronic component industry with good understanding of motors
