Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCarthage College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to serve as the Club Ultimate Frisbee Coach. This position is responsible for providing leadership, instruction, and supervision to student-athletes participating in the Ultimate Frisbee Club program. The coach plays a key role in fostering a positive and safe environment, teaching proper techniques and strategies, and supporting the personal and athleticKey ResponsibilitiesAttend team practices and all competitions for the full duration of the competitive season and/or academic year.Lead the club's executive board and student leaders in organizing and managing all aspects of team operations, including practice planning and execution, game and travel logistics, and accompanying the team to off-campus competitions as needed.Ensure the team and program operate in full compliance with Carthage College policies, Club Sports guidelines, and all league and governing body rules, including enforcement of eligibility requirements for all participants.Provide oversight and mentorship to student-athletes, serving as a positive role model while fostering sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and overall academic and personal growth.Implement and enforce risk management strategies to ensure student safety during practices, competitions, and travel.Ensure a fair and unbiased tryout process and assist in determining appropriate roster sizes.Provide updated rosters and travel information to the Director of Club Sports.QualificationsPrevious coaching or competitive playing experience in Ultimate Frisbee preferred.Strong understanding of current rules, strategies, and best practices within the sport.Ability to lead and motivate college-aged students in a positive, professional manner.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Commitment to Carthage College's mission, values, and policies.Must successfully complete a background check and meet Carthage Club Sports eligibility requirements.Apply nowAbout CarthageLocated on the shore of Lake Michigan in the thriving Chicago-Milwaukee corridor, Carthage College blends the best liberal arts traditions with desirable degree programs, transformative learning opportunities, and personal attention from dedicated faculty and staff.
