Located at our main campus in Red Hook NY this position is responsible for overseeing total food service operations and assuring all special diets are adhered to in absence of the Food Service Manager. They will meet with their supervisor at the beginning of each week to confirm the menu cycle for the week follow and adhere to recipes as close to caloric intake as possible be responsible for supervision of student workers and ascertain that all caloric diets are followed and adequate food prepared to allow for additional servings. The Head Cook will be responsible for the cleanliness and security of the kitchen at the end of each work day as well as appropriate inventory control to ensure adequate supply of food products on a daily basis.Location: Main campus Red Hook schoolSalary: (commensurate with education and experience)With HS Diploma/GED: $21.50 - $23.00 per hourWith BA/BS: $22.50 - $24.07 per hourWith MA/MS or higher: $23.50 - $25.14 per hourYou deserve to work somewhere that gives back to you! Prefer two years education in related food service program.Experience: Minimum two years experience in similar position in an institutional setting.Physical Requirements: Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs alcohol inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances. Significant prolonged and frequent amounts of walking standing sitting stooping bending and lifting of 25 lbs or more.
