Cross Country Boys Head Coach at Albert Lea Area Schools

Position Type:Athletics/Activities/CoachingDate Posted:11/9/2025Location:Albert Lea High SchoolDate Available:08/03/2026 Closing Date: 06/30/2026Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Oversee all aspects of the high school cross country program including training meet preparation and athlete development. Plan and conduct effective practices focused on endurance strength technique and race strategy. Build a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship academic success and personal growth. Manage meet lineups coordinate travel logistics and communicate effectively with athletes families and staff. Collaborate with assistance coaches athletic trainers and school administrators to ensure athlete safety and program alignment with district goals. Recruit and mentor student-athletes at the high school and middle school levels to encourage program growth. Ensure compliance with MSHSL district and safety policies at all times. Serve as a role model and ambassador for Albert Lea Athletics within the school and community. Pay Rate: Compensation will be in accordance with Schedule Cofthe Teacher Master Agreement ($6199/season) Qualifications: Previous coaching experience in cross country or track & field (head or assistant) strongly preferred. Knowledge of training principles injury prevention and long-distance running techniques. Strong leadership communication and organizational skills. Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes parents and staff.
