For more information, please visit about.springernature.com and follow @SpringerNatureAbout the RoleAs we expand our Open Access (OA) Agreements globally, we are seeking a commercially driven and strategically minded individual to shape the future of our institutional OA product portfolio. This role will work closely with the Director, OA Agreements and Director, Partnerships to define, refine, and operationalise business models that support sustainable growth and value creation for our partners. The role is global but will be New York-based to expand our presence in a key and complex market.ResponsibilitiesActs as product lead on the definition and evolution of OA Agreement business models and parametersAnalyse and monitor existing agreements and pipeline to understand and report on pricing impactSize the global commercial impact and monetisation potential of new and existing modelsSupport long-term strategic planning for OA product innovationWork with stakeholders to ensure end-to-end readiness for each parameter: documentation, modelling, offer frameworks, contracts, reporting, and CRM integrationCollate external and internal feedback to prioritise backlog and ensure developments provide customer value and satisfaction, whilst considering implementation costSupport Partnerships, Performance, and Operational teams to communicate frameworks, contract language, and approval matrices clearly across the organisationAct as a spokesperson for commercial product strategy in cross-functional and tech development projectsAnalyse market offerings in the OA Agreement space as well as internal products for synergies and potentialMaintain a governance framework for model decisions and practice, including guardrails and prioritisationExperience, Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience in commercial product development, sales strategy, or marketing, ideally within academic publishing, SaaS, or a related industryWorking knowledge of Open Access publishing models and institutional agreementsHands-on experience with sales processes and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and ability to leverage these tools for operational efficiency and reportingExperience working in a global, matrixed organisation with diverse stakeholder groupsDemonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives and driving product innovationStrategic and analytical mindset with strong commercial acumenExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsAbility to synthesise complex data and make informed decisionsComfortable navigating ambiguity and managing competing prioritiesCollaborative and proactive approach to problem-solvingSpringer Nature US provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes the benefit offerings listed below:Medical, Dental and Vision401(k) with company match and contributionHybrid office working policy, Summer Hours, and paid time offFlexible Spending and Commuter programsMultiple Life insurance optionsDisability coverageTuition AssistanceVoluntary benefits: Identity Theft Protection, Pet Insurance, and Legal Assistance InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramFamily friendly benefits and a variety of employee discountsAn array of Employee Social NetworksUS Annualized Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $165,000. This role is eligible for an annual performance-related bonus plan. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level, and equity.
