Job description: As a Program Architect, you will work with project teams in a dynamic, rapid-growth work environment with bright and talented engineers, architects, designers, builders, crafters, and manufacturers to improve and deploy a prototype building program and to build an alternative to the traditional construction industry. Job Details Overview We are developing a repeatable building platform designed for deployment within hyperscale data center environments. This product line is expected to generate over $100M in annual revenue and scale significantly over the coming years. Electrical system performance, reliability, and cost discipline will be critical to the success of this initiative. This role is responsible for leading the development and execution of the electrical systems that support this product platform. Rather than supporting a single project, this position focuses on building a repeatable electrical system architecture that can be manufactured, deployed, and improved across multiple projects. The role operates within an integrated design, manufacturing, and construction operating model where system decisions are made collaboratively across product, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and construction teams. Position Summary The Manager / Head of Electrical Systems will be accountable for the electrical scope of a hyperscale product line, ensuring strong system performance, predictable deployment outcomes, and cost efficiency. This is a leadership role focused on building and scaling an electrical system framework. The position will oversee electrical architecture, manufacturing integration, field execution alignment, and continuous system improvement as the product evolves. The role requires a builder-someone capable of developing systems, teams, and processes that improve performance and scalability with each deployment. Key Responsibilities Electrical System Leadership Own the electrical system architecture and deployment strategy for a hyperscale infrastructure product line Influence electrical distribution strategy, panelization approaches, grounding systems, lighting integration, and mission-critical interfaces Ensure electrical systems are designed for manufacturability, repeatability, cost efficiency, and field reliability Translate operational feedback from deployments into continuous product improvements Product & Manufacturing Integration Move system complexity out of field construction and into controlled design and manufacturing environments Partner with manufacturing engineering and supply chain teams to standardize components and optimize sourcing strategies Support takt-based manufacturing processes by ensuring electrical scope integrates seamlessly into production workflows Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with product leadership, engineering teams, manufacturing, construction, and program management Align electrical system design with broader product and platform governance Support architectural decisions and system improvements across multiple product deployments Team Leadership Build and lead a dedicated electrical team including: Electrical Project Manager Electrical Designer Electrical Manufacturing SME Electrical Construction Lead Develop a high-performing team capable of scaling alongside the product line Provide technical leadership and mentorship across electrical disciplines Deployment & Continuous Improvement Provide hands-on leadership during early product deployments Ensure alignment between product design intent and field execution Implement feedback loops that improve reliability, reduce variability, and increase margins over time Qualifications Required Experience 12+ years of experience working with commercial, industrial, or mission-critical electrical systems Demonstrated ownership of electrical systems from design through deployment Experience managing electrical cost performance, budgets, or margin accountability Leadership experience across design, manufacturing integration, and construction execution Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, grounding and bonding requirements Experience with power distribution systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and utility coordination Ability to interpret electrical design documents, specifications, and one-line diagrams Experience integrating commissioning considerations into design and construction processes Preferred Experience Data center or other mission-critical infrastructure experience Experience with prefabrication, modular construction, or repeatable product environments Professional Engineering (PE) license or Master Electrician credentials Location Birmingham, Alabama Approximately 55-65% on-site presence with periodic travel to active job sites.
