Additionally establishes and maintains programs for the effective monitoring and trending of current radiological control practices and actively participates in the development of new processes and technologies. Interfaces with other Station departments to ensure efficient coordination of their activities with the Stations Radiation Protection strategiesJob DescriptionKey AccountabilitiesAssist the Radiation Protection Supervisors in the direction of day- to- day activities of the Radiation Protection personnel including data analysis and coordination with other station work groupsDevelop maintain and implement Radiation Protection Department procedures and processesPrimarily coordinate the implementation of the Stations ALARA Program; and supplement Radioactive Waste Management; Radioactive Material Control; Dosimetry; and Respiratory Protection ProgramsMonitor the effectiveness of the above programs and produce various trend reportsRepresent Radiation Protection through Work/Outage Management planning committees assisting in the development and execution of radiological support activitiesAct as Contract Coordinator for various Radiation Protection Contracts as requiredAssist in the development and oversight of Radiation Protection training for Technicians and Radiation Workers as requiredSupport Refueling/Forced Outage and Duty Team positions on alternate/backshift schedules as required Qualify and support Emergency Plan positions on rotation as required to maintain Health and Safety of the public residing within the required response times for the assigned position.Education Experience & Skill RequirementsBachelors of Science degree in Health Physics or Radiation Protection 4 years related experienceor-Bachelors degree 4 years related work experience -or-Associates degree in engineering technology chemistry radiation protection or related field 5 years related work experience -or-Navy Nuclear ELT -or-5 years related work experienceKey MetricsTechnical competence including Microsoft applicationsTeamworkProblem solving/Decision makingResults OrientationJob FamilyPlant OperationsCompanyVistra Nuclear Operations CompanyLocationsPerry OhioOhioWe are a company of people committed to: Exceeding Customer Expectations Great People Teamwork Competitive Spirit and Effective Communication.
