JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: HIM Analyst I

Location: Philadelphia, PA/ Remote

Pay Rate: $28 - $31/hr on W2

Duration: 08 + Months (Possibility of Extension)

Position is mostly remote, with contractors needing to come onsite occasionally for mandatory meetings required by leadership.


Job Summary

This position is responsible for auditing, monitoring, and reporting of clinical documentation performance and compliance with standards set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS),


Job Functions

  1. Performs retrospective chart reviews to ensure enterprise compliance with accreditation standards and the federal and state licensing laws as well as the accuracy and the integrity of scanning in Epic and ChartMaxx.
  2. Partners with hospital record custodians to perform the Release to Inspector functionality for approved users.
  3. Monitors and supports the Epic Failed Fax distribution to referring physicians and PCPs.
  4. Monitors Fair Warning and provides notification to end users whose accounts are flagged.
  5. Addresses and corrects integration issues such as name changes, aliases and merges within the ChartMaxx application.
  6. Works closely with IS support to resolve any software issues and resolve Service Now.
  7. Ensures data integrity and that patient identifiers are consistent between Epic, ChartMaxx and M Modal transcription systems.
  8. Understands and complies with all enterprise and IS departmental information security policies, procedures and standards.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned related to the management of the paper charts and their life cycle.
  10. Supports the integration of information security in the development, design, and implementation of Technology Resources that process, transmit, or store CHOP information.
  11. Supports all compliance activities related to state, federal regulatory requirements, healthcare accreditation standards and all other applicable regulations that govern the use and disclosure of patient, financial, or other confidential information.


Skills

Required Skills & Experience

  • At least one (1) year of progressive experience in HIM or an HIM related area
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Ability to learn Epic, ChartMaxx and Med Quist
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
