Heavy Diesel Mechanic at D&A Contracting LLC

We are a leading transportation and waste management company specializing in dump truck services, aggregate hauling, solid and hazardous waste transport, remediation, and abatement. Our fleet is the backbone of our operation - and we're looking for an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to keep it running strong.

Position Summary

The Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of dump trucks, roll-offs, and other heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate is a skilled technician who takes pride in precision, efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and major repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.

• Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and manuals.

• Conduct inspections and ensure vehicles meet DOT safety and compliance standards.

• Maintain accurate service and repair records.

• Work with operations to minimize downtime and prioritize repairs.

• Perform welding or fabrication work as needed.

• Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic (heavy-duty truck experience required).

• Strong knowledge of engines (Cummins, Detroit, Caterpillar, etc.) and hydraulic systems.

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.

• CDL or ability to obtain one preferred.

• Welding and fabrication skills a plus.

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
