Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic - Computer Diagnostics Specialist

Overview We're looking for a seasoned Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic who excels at computer-based diagnostics, solves problems fast, and performs under pressure. If you know your way around modern diesel systems and can turn complex faults into clear fixes, we want to talk.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced computer diagnostics on heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment (ECM, emissions, aftertreatment, electrical).
• Troubleshoot, identify root causes, and execute efficient repairs with minimal downtime.
• Service and repair engines, drivetrains, braking, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, fault codes, and live data; document findings and repairs.
• Prioritize multiple jobs, communicate status clearly, and maintain high safety and quality standards.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic (class 6-8 trucks or equivalent heavy equipment).
• Strong computer diagnostics skills
• Proven problem solver who works well under pressure and meets tight timelines.
• Solid understanding of aftertreatment systems (DPF, DOC, SCR), CAN bus, sensors, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and use precision measuring tools.

Nice to Have

• ASE Medium/Heavy Truck certifications (T-Series) or OEM certifications.
• Welding/fabrication experience
• Mobile service/road call experience.
