Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Operate heavy equipment such as loaders forklifts and skidders to transport lumber and raw materials within the sawmill.Inspect machinery and perform routine maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.Communicate with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate tasks and prioritize work.Monitor equipment performance and report any issues or malfunctions.Adhere to production schedules and meet quality standards for lumber products.Maintain a clean and organized work area including equipment storage areas.Other duties as needed.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:HS Diploma or GEDExperience operating heavy equipment in an industrial or manufacturing setting preferably in a sawmill or lumber yard.Valid drivers licenseSkills:Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to heavy equipment operation.Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test post-offer pre-employment physical and background check.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to sit and/or stand for shift reach with hands and arms stoop squat bend at the waist kneel walk varying distance and climb stairs.Bend at waist frequentTwist upper body frequentStoop occasionalLift above waist height frequent depending on machine centerLift over 50 lbs. frequent depending on machine centerRepetitive use of hands constantStand/walk constantSit occasionalVision near and far correctable; depth perceptionHearing preferred for awareness of surrounding machinery mobile equipment emergenciesWORK ENVIRONMENT:Must be able to tolerate all weather elements loud conditions airborne particles (sawdust).Idaho Forest Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals on the basis of race/ethnicity color religion sex sexual orientation gender identity national origin disability protected veteran status age genetic information family medical history or any other status protected by law.
