Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other machinery
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company policies
• Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner, both in-shop and in the field if required
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or technician
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
• Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment (50+ lbs)
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments
• Ability to stand, bend, and work in tight spaces for extended periods
