We are currently seeking a Lead Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic to support our maintenance operations at our New Orleans terminal. This position blends technical field work with leadership responsibilities, working on critical heavy equipment used in high-volume cargo handling.About the New Orleans Terminal:Located along the Mississippi River at the Port of New Orleans—one of the nation’s busiest trade corridors—our team supports 24/7 cargo operations. We maintain a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement while working with large-scale material handling equipment.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy mobile equipment (including forklifts, cranes, and loaders)Plan, track, and document maintenance activities using our CMMS system (Maximo)Assist with vendor coordination and parts procurementEnsure compliance with safety procedures, ISO standards, and HSSE requirementsCoach, support, and mentor junior maintenance team membersWhat You Need to Succeed:5+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience; prior lead or supervisory experience is an assetStrong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnosticsExperience using CMMS systems (Maximo preferred)Valid driver’s license; TWIC card required or ability to obtainAbility to work a flexible schedule including weekends, overtime, and emergency call-outsWhat We Offer:Competitive hourly pay with overtime earning potentialCompany-provided PPE and workwearTraining and ongoing career development opportunitiesPathways for advancement within a growing organizationA collaborative, safety-focused work environmentWork Schedule:Full-time position with rotating availability for weekends and emergency calloutsAdditional InformationQSL and all entities under the QSL name including Sycamore Specialized Carriers are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
