Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Hematology Oncology Physician, you will join our dynamic healthcare team in Seattle at Virginia Mason Medical Center. This physician will join a multi-specialty hospital based practice with more than 10 physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. Our new physician should have a strong interest in Benign and Malignant Hematology. As part of our team, you will work alongside local and regional cancer care specialists, all dedicated to improving quality, enhancing patient experience, and advancing clinical standards for those we serve. We have extensive multidisciplinary support including site-specific tumor boards and excellent nursing support.

Every day you will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of patients and their families within Franciscan Medical Group.

To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, board-certified, and compassionate Hematology Oncologist, possessing expertise in diagnosing and managing complex diseases, alongside strong communication abilities.

  • Have a strong interest in Benign and Malignant Hematology.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide ongoing management and follow-up care for patients with a wide variety of hematology and oncology diseases.
  • Offer guidance and support to patients and families regarding educational resources and community services
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated approach to care
  • Stay current with research and best practices in both Hematology and Oncology to provide evidence-based care
  • Participate in community outreach and education initiatives to promote awareness of cancer care and blood disorder issues
  • Extensive program of multi-disciplinary cancer conferences – including Breast, Thoracic, GI, Hepatobiliary, Urologic, Prostate and Dermatology/Sarcoma
  • Involvement in collaborative group clinical trials
  • Virginia Mason Medical Center (VMMC) is the longest-running accredited Academic Commission on Cancer (CoC) program in the Western United States
  • The cancer program oversees 2800 analytic cancer cases per year, plus an additional 20% non-analytic cases
  • 28 chemotherapeutic and biologic infusion chairs


We are offering a starting bonus, and relocation assistance. Retirement plans include both 401(k) and 457(b).


Job Requirements

Required

  • Medical Degree
  • Completion of ACGME Residency and Fellowship Training Programs
  • Interest in Beniign and Malignant Hematology
  • Active Washington State Medical License and DEA in good standing prior to start date
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Hematology and Oncology
  • Eligible for medical staff privileges at VMMC

Pay Range
$416,994 - $677,281 /year
