Located in picturesque Washington CT the Teacher will be part of a cohesive passionate and dynamic team. The selected candidate will foster Devereuxs mission and values of quality care as well as providing top-notch and individualized therapeutic care for our students.Primary Responsibilities Include:Demonstrate a student centered approach to instructionParticipation in a reflective professional development processMeeting the requirements of the IEP/ Treatment Plan process by contributing to a data-based present level of student performance accommodations modifications transitional elements as well as any additional pertinent information based on the students needsIntegrating multi-modality instructional approaches in lesson planning and delivery to meet the diverse learning style of students in the classroomPrioritizing and promote a safe and secure environment for student learning through utilization of social emotional learningFormally and informally collaborate with Teaching Assistants Occupation/Speech Therapists Social Workers Nursing Behavior Specialists and school leaders regarding student and teacher supportsImplementing PBIS campus approaches (5:1 praise to corrective feedback ratio focusing on skill development utilizing varied approaches based on levels of student behavior) with a high level of fidelity#sponsoredQualificationsBachelors degree in education or related field required (Masters preferred).Connecticut Teaching certificate or eligibility to obtain a teaching certificate.3 years of experience within the field of education preferred.Special education degree and experience preferred.Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization.
